Upon your arrival at the Los Mochis International Airport, a staff host will greet you at the gateway to continue your journey to the colonial town of El Fuerte (1.5 hour drive), founded in 1564. Famous also for being the legendary birthplace of Señor Diego de la Vega, also known as Zorro.

Arrival to El Fuerte Town "The Gateway to Copper Canyon" and stay at Posada del Hidalgo (a beautiful colonial mansion). Enjoy walking around the lovely plaza, the colonial church, and magnificent municipal Palace and the museum, reminding you of the old romantic México.

Make sure you walk along the beautiful new avenue on the Fuerte River.

After early breakfast, you will be transfer to El Fuerte train station (15 min). Around 8:30 a.m. board the famous Chepe Train heading to Bahuichivo train station; the Copper Canyon train ride is an inspiring journey that took more than 100 years to construct, called by Readers Digest "The Most dramatic train ride in the northern Hemisphere" an engineering marvel (as National Geographic has called it) that will take you from sea level to almost 8,000 feet via 86 tunnels and over 40 bridges in this unspoiled landscape in the 25,000 square mile canyons of the Sierra Madre. The 8 major canyons are collectively known as the Copper Canyon, which is four times the size of the U.S. Grand Canyon combined. The tribe that inhabit the Canyons are called Tarahumara Indians.

One of the major points of interest is Temoris, where you can see three ascending levels of the railroad. Arrival at Bahuichivo train station around 12:20 p.m. were you will be greeted by the Mision Hotel shuttle that will transfer you to Cerocahui Town (40 min).

Experience a wonderful virgin landscape setting in the middle of the mysterious Tarahumara Indian country. After lunch, visit the Tarahumara Indian Girls Boarding School, next to the Hotel Mision and the Jesuit Mission of Cerocahui. Enjoy happy hour at 6:00 p.m., before dinner and try our famous Mision Wine, made with the hotel´s own vineyards.

After early breakfast, you will be transfer to Urique Canyon, the deepest of all canyons. You will ride along a road (by van or bus) that will take you to 7,500 feet at the Gallego Lookout Point to appreciate the grandeur of this incredible place. The mining town of Urique is nestled below, along the river.

Get ready to go to Bahuichivo Train station for the next leg of the journey to Posada Barrancas – Mirador Hotel. Re-board the Copper Canyon Train at 12:20 pm for another thrilling train ride with beautiful landscapes, amazing views on the way, have your camera ready.

Take a trek following the trail enjoy incredible look out points for the canyons and the area where Tarahumara Indians live. (1 hour walk approximately).

Have fun in the afternoon at the live music Mexican fiesta happy hour.

After an early Continental breakfast, you will visit the Copper Canyon Adventure Park.

At the Copper Canyon Adventure Park you can take a tram ride for a bird’s eye view of the canyon and the river below. Take a picture at the incredible Balancing Rock, three spectacular canyons overlook points are going to be part of the experience.

If you prefer more adventure, the park also has the second longest zip-line in the world. In this half-day excursion you will traverse several side canyons in 7 stations and walk over 2 swinging bridges. With the longest of the lines over a kilometer long with a depth of over 1000 feet, you are sure to never forget this trip! If you are looking for an extreme adventure, there is the "Via Ferrata", an obstacle course with rappelling, rockclimbing and horizontal traverses that is an amazing test of outdoor skill.

Enjoy your last lunch at the canyon around 12:00 pm. At 12:45 p.m. transfer to the train station, for your return to El Fuerte on board the Chepe train. A host of our staff will greet you to provide a complementary shuttle to Los Mochis for a one night stay.
